Service Parameters and Community Assistance Guidelines
At Breaking Bread Outreach Ministries, our mission is to create tangible expressions of God's love by serving families and individuals in crisis with compassion, hope, and practical support. We work to meet immediate needs while connecting people to resources that create long-term stability and empowerment.

-
Families and individuals who reside in Hays County

Current Services
We are blessed to provide support through:
-
Food and basic needs assistance
-
Resource referrals for housing and utilities
-
Family Empowerment Partner coaching and community connection
-
Collaboration with local agencies, faith-based organizations, and volunteers to strengthen our community

Temporary Housing & Hotel Assistance
At this time, Breaking Bread is not able to provide short-term hotel stays or emergency lodging due to limited funding and capacity. While we understand that housing instability can be urgent and painful, our focus is on connecting individuals and families to partner agencies that specialize in emergency shelter and housing services.
If you are in need of emergency housing, we encourage you to contact:
-
Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center & Thriving Hearts Crisis Center - Services for women and families escaping family violence
-
Southside Community Center – Provides temporary shelter (currently waitlisted), daily meals, showers, laundry, mail, and lockers.
-
BR3T Housing Stability Services –Rent assistance, rental security & pet deposits, application fees, utility deposits, case management

Our Commitment
Breaking Bread remains committed to walking alongside individuals and families through crisis with compassion and care. Even when we cannot provide direct financial assistance, we will do our best to help you navigate available community resources and take steps toward stability.
Thank you for your understanding and for allowing us to continue serving our community faithfully and responsibly.
